Giselle Corbie, MD, MSc | Associate Provost
Dr. Giselle Corbie-Smith was appointed as the Associate Provost for Rural Innovation in 2019. Giselle Corbie-Smith, MD, MSc is a Kenan Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Social Medicine and Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and is Director of the Center for Health Equity Research. She is also the Director of the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (NC TraCS) Institute’s Community Academic Resources for Engaged Scholarships (CARES) services, and Co-Director of the Program on Health Disparities through the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research.
Shelby McLamb | Communications Assistant
Shelby McLamb is a communications assistant for UNC Rural. As a communications assistant, she promotes and shares content relating to local, regional, and statewide partners on programs, initiatives, opportunities, resources, or partnerships. In addition to serving as a communications assistant for UNC Rural, McLamb is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill where she studies communications and media and journalism, and a social media intern for the podcast A Different Kind of Leader, hosted by Dr. Corbie.
